Navigating the Mysteries

March 25

£90
  • « Finding Wild Mountain: The Epic of Parzival

Dr Martin Shaw We live in scary times: climate emergency, war, pandemics, it goes on and on. Many would call this apocalyptic. The original sense of the word is ‘to be revealed’. But are we really any closer to understanding the nature of this situation when we have mostly lost the ability to decipher it? There was a time when you went for a walk and a mountain told you a story. Or a cormorant or lightning storm. Myth was once a place we nested within to hear the earth think. In times like these, we need to re-find that relationship. Through shamanistic, Christian and philosophical sources, we will explore how we move from living with uncertainty to navigating the mysteries. Expect telling and exploration of Siberian, Irish and British folktales and myth.
