The House of Beasts & Vines
October 28 @ 5:00 pm—October 30 @ 3:00 pm
The House of Beasts & Vines is a special gathering taking place at an old manor house on the edge of Dartmoor this autumn. In this magical setting, Dr Martin Shaw will be teaching on the subjects most alive for him.
From Caucasus myth to Christian wonder tales, from Arthurian mysticism to Siberian folklore, these stories and ideas point towards remaining human in growingly inhuman times.
Alongside the teaching there will be time to enjoy the intense beauty of Devon in autumn, late night fireside gatherings, small group discussions, and a feast and finery evening.
It’ll also be a slightly belated birthday event for Martin, so he’ll be reading from his new versions of poems by Lorca, Tagore and Irish Bardic material to celebrate.
